Painters for Pets

Join us for the 9th annual Painters for Pets, celebrating local art and supporting our mission to feed and keep pets in their homes.  Whether you are a pet lover or an art collector, this is the event for you!

Painters for Pets features unique artwork from a wide variety of local artists – including painters, photographers, ceramicists, woodworkers, metal-smiths, and more.  Hosting both silent and live auctions, we know you will find something to fall in love with.   Doors open at 5:30pm, live auction begins at 7pm.  Appetizers available, drink ticket included with admission and live music courtesy of Brian Congden!

– Early Bird available until 3/16 – $30 each
– Regular Pricing: $35 single, $65 double
– Tickets available at the door however, pre-purchase is highly recommended

Griff Gives Back

March 17 - April 21, 2025

Partnering since 2014, The Pet Project has teamed up with Griff, Drake University’s live mascot for Griff Gives Back. Each spring, in conjunction with Drake’s Beautiful Bulldog Contest, Griff hosts a pet food drive in support of our programs. We are so appreciative of Griff and his supporters, as this drive helps provide food to patrons for half the year!

Cool Cars for Cats: Car Show and Cat Food Drive

Fall 2025 - Stay Tuned! | 

The Pet Project is teaming up with WesleyLife’s Meals on Wheels and Iowa Charity Cruisers for Cool Cars for Cats! This annual car show and cat food drive supports feline needs in our programs. Awards will be given for cars entered into the show and attendees will have an opportunity to learn about our work.  Admission is one unopened bag of adult cat food (preferably 3lb) or a free-will donation. Small bags of food help us better distribute the appropriate amount of food and are easier for patrons/volunteers to manage.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the 2024 event!  Together, we raised $3,000 and received 550+ pounds of pet food!

Pet Photos With Santa

Thank you to everyone who supported our 2024 Pet Photos With Santa events!  Together, we raised over $2,000 to help keep pets fed and with their families who love them!
Bring your pet, kiddos and/or family and for only $20 have your photo professionally taken with Santa! Cash, check or credit card accepted and photos will be emailed to you. All proceeds support Pet Project and our programs working to keep pets in their homes with the people who love them.
